Nightmares and night terrors are different
Nightmares happen in REM and you remember them. Night terrors happen in deep sleep and usually you do not.

A nightmare is a vivid, frightening dream that wakes you, usually late in the night, and you can often recall it. A night terror happens early in the night, out of deep sleep: a person may scream or sit up, but they are hard to wake and rarely remember anything. Baku is built for nightmares. Frequent night terrors in adults are worth discussing with a doctor.
