For partners

For the person who wakes up too.

When someone you love has nightmares, you lie awake beside them, wanting to help and not knowing how. Partner mode gives you a few gentle ways to be there, without ever reading a single dream.

“Hey. It was a dream. You’re home, I’m right here. Breathe with me.”

What you can do

Small things that matter at 3 a.m.

Record a voice for the night

A few calm words, recorded in daylight. If they wake from a nightmare, your voice plays in Nightlight while they breathe.

Leave a bedtime note

Something for tonight, text or voice. It arrives as part of their evening ritual, never as a buzz in the night.

Share the calm nights

If they allow it, you see a shared count of calm nights. A quiet way to notice progress together.

Log what you noticed

“You talked in your sleep around 3.” A short note helps the morning make sense, and it is saved for them, not shared.

How it works

  1. 01

    They invite you

From Baku’s settings, the person with nightmares creates an invite code. It stays valid for 48 hours.

  2. 02

    You join, free

Download Baku, enter the code, and you are connected. Partners never need a subscription.

  3. 03

    They decide what you see

A shared count of calm nights, or nothing at all. They can change it or end the connection at any time.

When they wake

What helps, and what doesn’t.

  • Speak softly and keep the light low and warm.
  • Remind them where they are: home, safe, with you.
  • Breathe slowly together. Long exhales.
  • In the morning, ask if they would like to talk about it.

Try not to

  • Ask for details of the dream at 3 a.m. Comfort first; the story can wait for the morning.
  • Tell them it is “just a dream”. It felt real. “You are safe, I am here” helps more.
  • Try to wake someone from a night terror. Stay close, keep them safe, let it pass.

Questions partners ask

Can I read my partner’s dreams?
No. Partners never see dream content, journal entries or what the Guide says. Your partner can share a rewritten ending with you if they want to, as a card they choose to send.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Partners join free. Recording a voice for 3 a.m. is part of Plus for the person with nightmares, so they can hear you at night.
What if we stop sleeping in the same place?
Partner mode works at any distance. Your voice note and bedtime notes arrive wherever they are, and the connection can be ended at any time.
